After 10 years in the military and 5 different deployments, it never seems to get easier to say goodbye. Luckily, we got the call 3 weeks ago that a house had opened on base if we wanted to move in. I can not express to you how much of a god-send that call was since I worry about my family’s safety constantly while I’m gone and our apartment lease runs out at the end of this month. At least now, I know that if someone wants to get in my house or to my wife and kids, not only will they have to go through checkpoints to do so, but they’ll have to be either brave or stupid to try anything on base. Anyway, since I got everyone settled in at the new place, I had to get all of the creature comforts turned on too. After a quick Bing search for Get Wild Blue, I got the internet set up. After a couple of more searches and phone calls, the cable and home phone were ready to go too. Now if this deployment would go as quick and smooth as the move.
